We are building a robot vehicle for the
DARPA Grand Challenge.

150 miles across the desert, no driver.

We have a shop in Redwood City, California. a working robot vehicle, and private funding.
If we win, volunteers will get a share of the $2,000,000 prize.
This is a opportunity to work on one of the most exciting projects in robotics today.

Volunteers
Interns
No pay, share the prize, time commitment 100 to 1000 hours. Half time, $15/hr, through October 2005. Bonus if we win.
In Silicon Valley. Principals only.

We're currently looking for people for these tasks:

GAME SIMULATOR DEVELOPMENT
Our simulator is in Blender. We need it connected to QNX.
STEERING CONTROL
We use Reynold's OpenSteer, a field-based planner.
VISUAL ROAD FOLLOWER
Our camera-based visual road follower needs work.
MOVEMENT PLANNER
If we reach a dead end, then what? We need an "A*" planner.
SYSTEM WIRING INTEGRATION
Install and maintain on-vehicle wiring, sensors, and cabling.
AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS
We break it, you fix it.
SENSOR DATA VISUALIZATION
Put the data from the sensors into a 3D model using OpenGL, and transform that model to overlay it on camera imagery.
SENSOR FUSION
Work with the LIDAR data and get it into a near-the-vehicle map for path planning.
PORTING/SYSADMIN
Port software from Linux and Windows to QNX. Administer the QNX machines, and build tools and scripts for the embedded systems.
